Neutral particle injection device

Description

Since the device of the present invention remarkably increases the current density of ions introduced to a neutralization cell, all the equipments including the neutralization cell can be reduced in the size. Namely, the device of the present invention comprises a plurality of ion sources having at least two electrodes and an accelerating portion having toroidal coils and at least two electrodes. In addition, it is constituted such that ion beams drawn out of the ion sources are deflected by magnetic fields formed by the toroidal coils and enter the acceleration portion. With such a constitution, in the device of the present invention, ion beams drawn out of a plurality of ion sources are deflected in the same direction in the magnetic fields formed by the toroidal coils, enter the accelerating portion and accelerated while being superposed with each other. As a result, the current density of ions introduced to the neutralization cell can be increased. (I.S.)
