Description
A report is presented on base-catalysed hydrogen-tritium exchange in 1,3-dinitronaphthalene. The results are compared with those previously reported for 1,3-dinitrobenzene. A homogeneous catalytic method, using potassium tetrachloroplatinate, was also used to label 1,3-dinitronaphthalene. Nuclear magnetic resonance spectra are shown. The mechanism of the reactions is discussed. (U.K.)
