The observation of a transverse voltage at the superconducting transition of thin films
Description
Monitoring the resistive normal- superconducting transition in a number of thin films by means of the van der Pauw technique has led to the observation of a voltage, VT, transverse to the direction of current flow. This voltage, commonly attributed to current redistribution, is observed only in the mixed state and occurs in the absence of any externally applied magnetic field. In this paper studies of VT as a function of temperature, current and film orientation are reported and analyzed in terms of current theoretical concepts involving vortex-antivortex interactions
