Description

A quantum system is considered in the gravitational field of a rotating massive body. In the weak-field approximation, it is shown that even then if the rotation-generated part of the space-time curvature is localized to a region inaccessible to the quantum system, nevertheless its energy spectrum and wave function depend on the angular velocity of the rotating body. This quantum effect may be looked upon as a gravitational analogue of the well-known Aharonov-Bohm effect for a charged particle in the presence of a magnetic field
