Investigation into cation substitution process in protonated trivanadate

  • 1. AN Kazakhskoj SSR, Alma-Ata. Inst. Khimicheskikh Nauk

Description

Methods of chemical, microscopic analyses and infrared spectroscopy are used to show that in aqueous solution of Rb+, NH4+, K+, Na+ chlorides corresponding cation may be substituted for metallic cation of magnesium protonated trivanadate. By increase of selective affinity to trivanadate polyanion cations are arranged in the following series: Mg2+≤Na+<H+<K+<NH4+<Rb+. Cations arranged to the right of proton are capable of substitution of not only cation but proton thus forming crystal anhydrous trivanadate. Cations arranged to the left of proton form protonated trivanadate
