A study of the nuclear power plant safety and human factor

The role of operators, who directly control the various equipments, is one of the most important factors of safe operation of a nuclear power plant. Supporting equipment upgrades and systematic tools are important measures to prevent human errors. It has, however, certain limits unless administrative support is not paralleled such as to provide operators with pride and positive environment. Therefore in order to prevent human errors of the operators, it is desired that supervisors should concentrate their efforts to control and supervise the actions of main control room operators. Securing an effective and conservative decision process is also an important role of supervisors. Supervisors should place competitive manpower in operators and provide a positive working environment with which experienced operators work as the nuclear power plant operators with pride and responsibilities
