Revision of the requirements on radioactive wastes to be disposed of in the planned Konrad repository by means of the program ANKONA

Description

Radioactive waste to be disposed of in the planned Konrad repository has to fulfil requirements which result from the analyses of the normal operation, of assumed incidents, of the thermal influence on the host rock and of the criticality safety. These requirements include limits of activity of groups of radionuclides and single radionuclides, which are determined by the properties of the waste packages. The program ANKONA was developed in order to examine the requirements by means of a personal computer. Only the necessary data of the waste package, for example the waste form group and the type of waste container, have to be provided. The result of the examination is displayed on the screen and optionally printed. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Die radioaktiven Abfaelle, die im geplanten Endlager Konrad eingelagert werden sollen, muessen Anforderungen erfuellen, die sich aus den Analysen zum bestimmungsgemaessen Betrieb, zu Stoerfaellen, zur thermischen Belastung des Wirtsgesteins und zur Kritikalitaetssicherheit ergeben. Diese Anforderungen beinhalten Aktivitaetsbegrenzungen fuer Radionuklidgruppen und Einzelnuklide, die die Eigenschaften des Abfallgebindes beruecksichtigen. Zur rechnerischen Ueberpruefung der einzelnen Anforderungen wurde das Programm ANKONA fuer einen Personalcomputer entwickelt, mit dem im Dialog die jeweils notwendigen Daten zum Abfallgebinde, wie z.B. Abfallproduktgruppe und Verpackung, abgefragt werden. Das Ergebnis der Ueberpruefung wird auf dem Bildschirm und wahlweise auf einem Drucker ausgegeben. (orig.)
