Use of the plastic track detector LR-115 as a fast neutron flux monitor

Description
Use of the plastic track detector LR-115 type 11 as an integrating fast neutron flux monitor is discussed. It is demonstrated that good linearity of response may be obtained over a wide range of flux. A calculated registration efficiency of 3.3 x 10-5 tracks per neutron is shown to provide useful track densities. Using an aluminium foil sample for activation analysis it is demonstrated that its weight may be obtained to within +- 5% (author)
