FRUMP: a physically based fuel model
Creators
Description
The development of FRUMP has not just given us a useful tool for gauging the performance of LMFBR fuel; it has also increased our understanding of the basic processes underlying fuel behavior and has stimuated the construction of physical models of this behavior. It is at this point that we may now consider producing simpler models for use in design and accident analysis. Unless the underlying mechanisms are understood empirical or simplified treatments can be misleading. 3 figures
