Description

A computer-controlled verification system of irradiation condition using a data base including source of radiation, nominal energy, field size, dose per fraction, total dose, angle of gantry and type of irradiation apparatus has been extended for multiple irradiation apparatuses using a single host computer. The main modification is to use a personal computer for each irradiation apparatus as a machine-machine interface between host computer and irradiation apparatus. The personal computer also acts as man-machine interface between an operator of the irradiation apparatus and host computer. With this system, verification software can verify therapeutic parameters for more than 10 irradiation apparatuses and can record treatment data in real time. 5 refs.; 2 figs
