Production of bromine-76 and bromine-77 using fission reactions at proton energy 1 GeV
Description
Cumulative yields of krypton-76, 77, 79 and bromine-77 radionuclides following irradiation by 1 GeV protons of elements in the rubidium-molybdenum series have been measured. A method has been devised for production of the bromine-76, 77 isotopes which is based on: a continuous separation of krypton-76, 77 isotopes from an irradiated target, their adsorption in a liquid-nitrogen-cooled trap with aluminium oxide, atorage for decay to the respective bromine isotopes and elution of the latter with an 0.1 mol/l NaOH solution
