Discussion on problems of the regional crustal stability in eastern Tianshan

Description
In the safety view of high-level radioactive waste disposal, regional crustal stability is the first requirement needs to consider during site selection. This problem is analyzed in the way of topography and geomorphology, regional faults activity, historical earthquake records and seismic intensity, modern crustal deformation, regional geophysical field, crustal velocity structure and effective thickness of lithosphere elastic, terrestrial heat flow and geothermal anomaly. The results show that the regional crust is stable in eastern Tianshan. (authors)
