Description
A quench-voltage detection method is described; it was developed for use with the Laboratory's 30-T hybrid magnet system. This technique can detect much smaller normal-zone voltages than those detectable with the conventional bridge-circuit technique. It is applicable to any multi-pancake-type superconducting coil, and is particularly effective in monitoring superconducting coils that are parts of multi-coil systems, including toroidal magnet systems
