The crystal structure of CsIn3
- 1. AN SSSR, Sverdlovsk. Inst. Khimii
Description
The crystal structure of CsIn3 was studied by means of single-crystal methods. The structure belongs to the RbGa3 type (space group, I4-barm2; a = 7.047 A; c = 16.803 A; Z = 6). The shortest interatomic distances in the structure are less than the sum of the atomic radii for a coordination number of 12: d(Cs-Cs) = 4.107 A; d(Cs-In) = 3.985 A; d(In-In) = 2.770 A. The atom coordination numbers are 16 and 19 for caesium and 8-10 for indium. The RbGa3-type structure relationships with the structures of other alkali metal-gallium or alkali metal-indium compounds were also studied. (Auth.)
