Specific heats of fcc solid solutions of the Bi2O3-Er2O3 system

Description
For the first time specific heats of the fcc solid solutions (Bi2O3)1-x(Er2O3)x in the temperature range 350 - 1000 K were measured by means of differential scanning calorimetry. Samples were also investigated with thermal expansion. A possiblity of tetragonal distortion with subsequent transformation in δ* phase is supposed for (Bi2O3)0.80(Er2O2)0.20. Thermodynamic data on (Bi2O3)1-x(Er2O3)x compared with ideal solutions are discussed. (author)
