Weak NN interaction at high energies in the additive quark model

Description

The authors consider the weak interaction of nucleons at high energies. In the sector of the strong interaction they use the additive quark model, and the weak interaction of the quarks is described by the Weinberg-Salam Lagrangian with inclusion of hard gluon exchanges. They calculate the longitudinal analyzing power αL in pp scattering, which at plab ≅ 10 GeV/c is ∼4.8·10-7. With increasing energy the value of αL decreases slowly, approaching its asymptotic value, which is not larger than ≅1.8 · 10-7
