Description
This paper searches to give an orientation to traumato-orthopedist surgeons who might to deal with patients contaminated with radioactivity material. The problems found during one patient upper limb amputation are shown, in spite of the lack specialized bibliography related to simulate accidents and protective steps that had to be followed for the first time in our environment. An brief description of the patient's clinical data like evolution, diagnostic procedures, the decision of amputation and the treatment done pre, per and pos-surgical getting into details like clothing, care and operative techniques used the need of measuring constantly radioactivity levels by specialized personnel and replacement of contaminated material is stressed.
