Polarized electron source for JLC using AlGaAs-GaAs superlattice

Description
We have measured polarization of electrons emitted from AlGaAs-GaAs superlattice. The polarization showed two flat regions as a function of photon wavelength. The average polarization of 52.4 ± 0.3 (stat.) ± 2.5 (sys.) % (30.9 ± 0.5 ± 2.7 %) was obtained at a photon wavelength from 775 to 800 nm (700 to 743 nm) at room temperature. It was interpreted that a flat region of higher (lower) polarization was a contribution from the electrons excited from the heavy hole band only (both heavy hole band and the light hole band).
