Observation of fourth vibrational overtone of hydrogen

Description
We report the first observation of the fourth vibrational overtone (Δv -- 5) transition of molecular hydrogen in solid parahydrogen at 19062 cm/sup -1/. We also report the first measurements of an almost complete set of the third vibrational overtone (Δv -- 4) transitions
