ORAMTM outage risk assessment and management
Description
Illustrated by flow diagrams and display images, this paper presents the organisation and the functionalities of ORAM, a software tool developed for the EPRI and used in many plants in the United States and some European plants, and which provides a quality measure of safety in a Risk Management Guideline (RMG) module, provides a quantitative measure of risk in probabilistic shutdown safety assessment (PSSA), and can interface with maintenance activities schedule. This software offers the possibility to enter work activities manually or automatically, gives guidelines for each situation, provides traceability and the ability to conduct 'what-if' scenarios. Features of RMG and PSSA technology are indicated
