Statistical model for the hydrogen solution in bcc Nbsub(1-y)Msub(y) alloys (M = Al, Cu, Sn, Ni, Pd)

Hydrogen solubility in Nbsub(1-y)Msub(y) alloys (M = Al, Cu, Sn, Ni, Pd) is suppressed relative to that in pure Nb, when compared at the same temperature and the equilibrium hydrogen pressure. The similar suppression of H absorption in Nbsub(1-y)Mosub(y) relative to pure Nb was already discussed in recent work on the basis of statistical thermodynamics. In the present work the applicability of the same statisical model as proposed for Nbsub(1-y)Mosub(y)Hsub(x) is examined for these alloys. (Auth.)
