On medium-energy (#betta#,p0) reactions at forward angles
Description
Different models are compared for the 16O(#betta#,p0)15N reaction at Esub(#betta#) = 80 MeV. The quasideuteron model fails to describe the recent small angle data, while a model including meson exchange currents is inadequate at backward angles. In the frame of the direct mechanism the experimental data are reproduced in the whole angular range with a combination of bound and scattering states suitable also for the analysis of the 16O(e,e'p)15N reaction.
