Naturally radioactive waste materials. Part 2. Disposal of hazardous waste
Description
The amended Radiation Protection Ordinance of 20 July 2001 specifies monitoring of certain industrial residues as radioactive materials. If these are disposed of according to the Waste Management Act (KrW-/AbfG), discontinuation of monitoring must be stated explicitly. The contribution discusses the aspects to be considered by owners of residues and by operators of landfills and presents practical experience so far

Durch die novellierte Strahlenschutzverordnung vom 20.7.2001 werden bestimmte Materialien, die als Reststoffe in der Wirtschaft anfalle, unter eine strahlenschutzrechtliche Ueberwachung gestellt. Eine Entsorgung derartiger ueberwachungsbeduerftiger Rueckstaende oder sonstiger ueberwachter Materialien als Abfaelle im Sinne der KrW-/AbfG erfordert eine vorherige Entlassung aus der Ueberwachung. Die dabei zu beruecksichtigenden Aspekte aus Sicht der Rueckstandsbesitzer und von Deponiebetreibern werden dargestellt und anhand erster praktischer Erfahrungen erlaeutert. (orig.)Additional details
