Application of photonic crystals to study molecular systems

  • 1. Center for Frontier Science, Chiba University, 1-33 Yayoi-cho, Inage-ku, Chiba 263-8522 (Japan)

Description

We propose to use photonic crystals to study fundamental issues such as excitation propagation in molecular systems, as an 'application' of photonic crystals. It bases on the proof that the effective Hamiltonian of flat photonic bands in photonic crystals is dominated by the short-range interaction, which is equivalent to the standard model of aggregates
