Description

A remote operated maintenance facility will be installed within the high and medium active fluid-chemical process areas of the planned German Nuclear Reprocessing Plant. For the so-called FEMO-technique (fernbedienungsgerechte Modulbauweise = modular design for remote operation) the process-technical-associated components are arranged in a steel structure, called module, and installed in the inaccessible main process cell. The remote operated modules are designed for static and dynamic service loads. Furthermore they have to withstand the load combination earthquake. A proof concept for the assessment of stability and strength of the modules under earthquake excitation is presented and verified by examples. This concept is based on analytical and experimental preinvestigations, which pass over into the final proof-calculations
