3. Regional Meetings of methanization in Normandy. Territorial projects at the crossroad of stakes of energy sovereignty and of energy transition

After a brief presentation of the methanization principle, of methanization environmental, agronomic, energy-related, and societal aspects, and of the added value of methanization for agriculture, this document first proposes graphs, maps and data to describe the development of methanization in Normandy. Then, it proposes Power Point presentations which give an overview of the situation and perspectives of methanization in Normandy in terms of development, of evolution, and of objectives, which highlight the importance of agriculture-related projects, which discuss connection issues, which describe the operation of a gas compression station. Another set of presentations addresses the MethaNormandie charter which aims at being a support to the development of methanization projects. Other presentations report the content of workshops: the Qualimetha label (a guarantee of quality for the sector), solutions to fund projects, levers to optimise energy consumptions of a methanization unit, and methanization sustainability (life cycle analysis and greenhouse gas emissions), territorial dialogue and hunting popular misconceptions, production of intermediate crops for energy purpose (CIVE) in Normandy, purposes of methanization (CO₂ valorisation, methanation, bio-NGV station), opportunities and experiments of methanization of urban and industrial sludge, the RED II directive and its implementation, bio-waste valorisation in methanization, training and professionalization of the sector, the role of the territory in methanization projects
