Radiochemical separation and photometric determination of Mn(II) using 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone and tribenzylamine synergic system

Description
Synergic extraction of Mn(II) with 2-Thenoyltrifluoroacetone (HTTA) and Tribenzylamine (TBA) was carried out. The element after extraction was assayed radiometrically and spectrophotometrically. Effect of different cations and anions was studied under the optimal conditions. The synergic adduct exhibited a maximum absorbance at 421 nm. The data showed that only Fe(III) and Sc(III) interfere and their interference can be removed with HTTA-SCN- system. The precision and accuracy of the method was checked by using IAEA Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). (orig.)
