Microscopic calculation of capture photon spectra induced by 14 MeV neutrons
Description
The analysis was done of the spectra of the primary gamma-rays from the radiative capture of the 14.1 MeV neutrons by 40Ca, 59Co, 89Y, 93Nb, 140Ce and 208Pb nuclei. The analysis is based on a generalized model of semidirect capture developed by the authors which takes into account higher orders of this process, connected with the preliminary excitation of the low-lying collective states of the target nucleus. Inclusion of this mechanism results in a richer spectrum of hard gamma-rays in all the accessible energy range including the region near the threshold of neutron emission. The results obtained are in good agreement with the experimental data

Проведен анализ спектров первичных гамма-лучей из радиационного захвата нейтронов с энергией 14,1 МэВ на ядрах 40Ca, 59Co, 89Y, 93Nb, 140Ce и 208Pb. В основе анализа лежит обобщенная модель прямого-полупрямого захвата, учитывающая более высокие порядки этого процесса, связанные с предварительным возбуждением низколежащих коллективных состояний ядра-мишени. Учет этого механизма приводит к обогащению спектра жестких гамма-лучей во всей достижимой области энергий, включая область порога эмиссии нейтронов.
