Polarization properties and new 3 μm laser lines in YAlO3: Er
Description
It is shown by experiment that simultaneous laser oscillation can be achieved on 3 different lines of the 4I11/2 → 4I13/2 manifolds at room temperature. The polarization properties of a 50% b-rod, a 20% a-rod, and a 10% b-rod were measured. Results show that it is possible to obtain laser action at 300K on 9 different wavelengths from 2.71 to 2.92 nm. Wavelength selection is achieved with sapphire Brewster plates and selectively absorbing filters
