THe observation of anomalous behaviour of proton and alpha particle induced fission cross sections of 232,238U in the extreme sub-barrier energy (ESBE) region was attributed to Coulomb excited target fission (CETF). Fission cross section measurements were carried out for two systems, 11B + 238U and 16O + 232Th
