Description

This paper discusses the indirect measurement of vertical fluxes near the ground by variance reduction analysis. The author introduces the concept of variance reduction analysis and its mathematical formulation. The paper then discusses the application of variation reduction analysis to the measurements of atmospheric fluxes near the ground. A second application is to predict temperature fluctuations.
