Elastic π0 electroproduction above the resonance region

Description
We report on the measurement of the process e + p → e + p + π0 at energies above the resonance region. The pions are predominantly produced perpendicular to the electron scattering plane. The cross section shows a dip at the minimum momemtum transfer. Both features are expected from comparison with photoproduction. (orig.)

Es wird ueber die Messung des Prozesses e + p → e + p + π0 im Energiebereich oberhalb der Resonanzenergie berichtet. Die Pionen werden bevorzugt senkrecht zur Streuebene der Elektronen produziert. Der Wirkungsquerschnitt zeigt einen Peak beim kleinsten Impulsuebertrag. Beide Charakteristika werden durch Vergleich mit der Photoproduktion erwartet. (orig.)
