Description

The dynamics of radioiodine losses from the solid phase was studied quantitatively and the effect was studied of tellurates (IV) on the photo-oxidation of radioiodide. Iodine escapes mainly in elemental form and the rate of escape decreases with time. It has been proved that by the effect of light, Na2TeO3 in the 131I solution acts as a powerful oxidation agent so that gradually iodine acquires a higher partial positive charge. (J.C.)
