Determination of fractional cumulative yields of 91Sr, 92Sr and 134Te in the thermal neutron induced fission of 233U and 241Pu

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Radiochemistry Div.

Description

Fractional cumulative yields (FCY) of 91Sr, 92Sr and 134Te have been determined in the thermal neutron fission of 233U and 241Pu. Present results together with published data on other fissile nuclides have been analysed in the light of variations of the most probable charge and the extent of charge polarization as a function of the fissionability parameter. The FCY vary linearly as a function of the fissionability parameter. The interpretation is based on the dependence of the charge polarization on the mass-asymmetry. (orig.)
