Low-temperature anomaly of magnetocrystalline anisotropy of FCC cobalt phase
Description
Magnetocrystalline anisotropy was investigated in single crystal cobalt films epitaxially grown on magnesium oxide crystal (001) face. NMR study showed no martensitic transformations in epitaxial films on cooling down to 4.2 k. Theoretical model is proposed to explain experimental results. It is concluded that multilayers polytypic phase are observed in nonequilibrium alloys rather than in pure metals. 12 refs.; 2 figs
