EPR of Gd3+ aquacomplexes in vitrified aqueous solutions and adsorbed on capillary surface

Description
Partial resolution of fine structure resulting in increase of the line effective width with Gd3+ concentration reduction was revealed in EPR spectra of diluted aqueous (C < 0.2 M) Gd(NO3)3 solutions at room temperature. The phenomena is explained by adsorption of Gd3+ aqua ions on the surface of measuring capillaries. Fine structure of EPR spectra was reveled in vitrified at 77 K and in quasi-vitrified at 298 K Gd3+ solutions. Analysis of EPR spectra of the solutions permitted detecting two types of aquacomplexes with the fine structure parameters D1 = 180 and D2 580 G

В спектрах ЭПР разбавленных водных (C < 0.2 M) растворов Gd(NO3)3 при комнатной температуре обнаружено частичное разрешение тонкой структуры, которое приводит к возрастанию эффективной ширины линии с уменьшением концентрации Gd3+. Это явление объяснено адсорбцией акваионов Gd3+ на поверхности измерительных капилляров. Тонкая структура спектров ЭПР обнаружена в застеклованных при 77 К и в квазизастеклованных при 298 К растворах Gd3+. Анализ спектров ЭПР этих растворов позволил выявить два типа аквакомплексов с параметрами тонкой структуры D1 = 180 и D2 = 580 GAdditional details
