Sample preparation of boron-containing alloys

Description
A scheme of sampling for spectral analysis of boron-containing alloys (BA), permitting to produce a representative sample, has been developed. To eliminate macroheterogeneity of BA composition over ingot volume a rapid cooling of crystallizing melt is conducted, followed by homogenizing annealing. The cooling rate of ≥ 10 3 K/s and annealing temperature of 1173-1223 K are recommended
