The I123 program at TRIUMF

Description

The program to evaluate spallation as a production route for iodine-123 began at TRIUMF in 1976 and has developed through several stages. Current production rate is 0.5 to 1 Ci per run for about 30 runs per year, mainly through the I(p,5n) reaction. This paper discusses experiences with the cesium spallation reaction for I123 production
