Advanced process for conversion of UF6 to high performance UO2 powder
- 1. Mitsubishi Materials Corp., Tokyo (Japan)
Description
Advanced conversion process of uranium hexafluoride to uranium dioxide has been developed. High performance UO2 powder is manufactured by this conversion process. By using this powder, large grain size pellets which is a candidate for high burnup fuel can be produced easily and low-temperature sintering is possible under reducing condition. Compact plant and wastes reduction are achieved by this manufacturing process. (author)
