Comparison of calculated and measured values of scintillation camera sensitivity

The aim of the work was the determination of scintillation camera sensitivity. The examined equipment was provided with some typical collimators applied in the range of gamma radiation useful in scintigraphic examinations. The paper presents a confrontation of these measurements with calculated values, in order to retest the approximations used in the mathematical formulas. The applicability of formulas is discussed basing on the presented results of confrontation. The paper presents a range of conformity of the measured and calculated values. It was demonstrated that the geometrical efficiency of the collimator plays a deciding role in the total sensitivity of the scintillation camera. (author)
