Possible observations of new physics in ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays

Description
The muon lateral structure functions in giant air showers induced by the primary photons have been simulated with the help of the original codes. A comparison with the results of calculations for hadronic showers shows a considerable deficit of muons in the gamma-induced showers. Some possible constraints of the source models with superheavy dark matter particles and topological defects are discussed
Abstract (Russian)
С помощью разработанных программ моделируются поперечные структурные функции мюонов в гигантских воздушных ливнях, вызванных первичными фотонами. Сравнение полученных данных с результатами расчетов для адронных ливней показывает значительный дефицит мюонов в ливнях, вызванных гамма-излучением. Обсуждаются возможные ограничения на модели источников с супертяжелыми частицами темной материи и топологическими дефектамиAdditional details
