The time-of-flight spectrometer for slow neutrons used at the Saclay Nuclear Research Centre

Description
This brief note presents the time-of-flight spectrometer of the CEA Saclay Centre which is the very first of its kind to be used in France. This apparatus can explore the thermal neutrons domain as well as the beginning of the slowing-down neutrons one. It describes: the mechanical shutter, the neutron pulse selector, the detectors (10BF3 counters or fission ionization chambers), the pulse selector, the calibration of the apparatus and the first measurements performed.
