Quasilinear equations for plasma equilibrium in three-dimensional closed configurations

Description
Two-dimensional quasilinear equations are derived for the quantities that characterize the shape of the magnetic surfaces in three-dimensional closed magnetic configurations having a system of nested magnetic surfaces. The desired quantities are functions of the radial and longitudinal flux coordinates. These equations are readily integrated over the longitudinal coordinate when the right-hand side is specified. 11 refs
