Moessbauer spectroscopic and electrochemical studies on 1', 1'''-dihalobiferrocenes

Description
In the Mossbauer spectroscopic studies on the triiodide salts of a series of 1',1'''-dihalobiferrocenes, it has been found that the monocations of diiodo- and dibromobiferrocene show averaged valence states of iron atoms, while the monocation salt of dichlorobiferrocene shows a trapped valence state of iron atoms. On the other hand, no difference has been found in the half-wave potentials of the halobiferrocenes. (author)
