Automatic control system by the MEP-2 modulator of the ''KRION'' ion source
Description
A device has been developed for the automatic control of the output power of the modulator of an electron beam (MEP-2) at a maximum power of 40 kW. Power regulation of the MEP-2 reduces to a change of the voltage at the output of the transformer feeding the storage of the modulator. The primary input of power is implemented with the aid of a 20-digital reversible shift register, one step of which corresponds to 5% of the prescribed power. The total time of power introduction is 45 min at a cycle period of 9 s. The device can be used for the remote control of high-power pulse units
