Angular distributions of neutrons produced in the (n, 2n) reaction from 127I at 14.5 MeV incident neutron energy
Description
The (n, 2n) reaction from 127I at 14.5 MeV incident neutron energy has been studied. NaI is used as a target as well as a detector of gamma-rays. The measured angular distributions of neutrons in coincidence with a pulse height are found to be symmetric about 900 and agree well with the predictions of the theory of statistical decay of the compound nucleus.
