Nuclear energy for peaceful uses: Status and salient issues for regional co-operation

Based on an expert group survey commissioned by ESCAP in preparation for the United Nations Conference for the Promotion of International Co-operation in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy, this report provides an overview of the current and potential uses of nuclear energy that could be harnessed by developing countries to support their development efforts. In particular, it highlights the agricultural, medical, and industrial applications of radioisotopes and radiation and underscores the need for regional and interregional co-operation in nuclear science and technology.
