Description
A report is given on experience with the remotely controlled, high dose rate Buechler afterloading unit used for brachytherapy during the past 16 months at a London hospital. It includes a brief introduction into the mechanism and safety features of the unit, dosimetric experiments to verify the dose distribution charts supplied by the manufacturer, the treatment regime and some clinical data on 52 patients treated so far.
