Possible role of the 22Na(n,p)22Ne and 36Cl(n,p)36S reactions in astrophysics
Description
A possible role of the (n, p) reaction in the process of transformation of the radioactive isotopes 22Na and 36Cl during the explosion of supernovae, which are the sources of meteorities is discusset. Under assumption that the total neutron flux is of the order of 1024-1030 n/(sxcm2) and that the neutron velocity distribution function is the Maxwellian one, it is demonstrated that nearly all the radioactive isotopes 22Na and 36Cl are consumed during the supernova explosion and the isotopes 36Cl are there transformed through the (n, p) reaction into 36S and not into 33Ar through β-decay as it was assumed before. That is why no anomaly in the distribution of 36Ar in meteorities was found
