Introduction of self-made software related to radiation technology
Description
This paper introduced self-made software groups of freeware that are available on the private website 'Medical Radiation Technology Laboratory.' First, it explained the database software group made of various physical data as a basis of radiation technology, while picking up five types of databases. For example, Phics is a database made of photon-material interaction cross section, mass attenuation coefficients of materials against photons, mass energy transfer coefficients, and mass energy absorption coefficients. Next, the software group made of X-ray, electron beam, and beta ray spectra provides the energy spectra of various types of radiations needed in various fields such as analysis of X-ray imaging process, calculation of internal dose distribution, and evaluation of radiation exposure dose. The third group is a software group that easily evaluates the exposure dose of patients due to radiation as well as the exposure of caregivers. An incidence surface dose calculation software for diagnostic X-rays and an average breast dose calculation software for mammography imaging are also included in this group. (A.O.)
